Ahhhh, here we are! The half way point of the year. This half of year has been full of surprises, and I can’t wait to see what the second half brings.

In the mean time, here are some things that caught my interest this week, and if you’re local to Northeast Ohio or visiting, scroll down for some fun things to do:

Read:

Is Instagram destroying travel? I recently listened to a podcast where they talked about tulip farmers in Amsterdam erecting barricades to prevent tourists trampling their tulip fields in pursuit of the perfect picture. As someone who loves Instagram, this is deeply embarrassing - please, be mindful of people, property, etiquette, and basic manners when taking pictures for Instagram. Do it for the ‘gram but don’t be an a*****e.

June is the start of Pride month. I’m a proud ally, and love the celebration of all things Pride, but it is important to remember that Pride is not all about glitter and parade floats. At its core, Pride is a protest against injustice, and the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland has been doing a great job of reminding straight allies of the importance of Pride and Pride etiquette.

Watch:

If you’re not watching Patriot Act, what are you even doing with your life? I’m a little biased because Hasan Minhaj dives deep into India on a few shows, but it is the biggest democracy in the world, so kinda important. Regardless, it’s smart global news delivered with a solid helping of laughs (if you love John Oliver, you will enjoy this show too). New shows on Netflix weekly.

Listen:

Minor Adventures with Topher Grace is HILARIOUS! I’m so happy I added it to my podcast list because it regularly makes me laugh out loud. Topher takes celebrity friends on true minor adventures with the help of experts. Some recent adventures include creating a new language and taking the MBTI test (Myers Briggs).
