Looking for an Astrologer? Read about my experience!

It’s no secret that I LOVE Astrology! I had a reading in early March, but the astrologer had my rising sign wrong, and then proceeded to suggest that I would have a “hot girl summer” and be invited to loads of parties, and then, well, we all know what happened.

My 2020 Astrology reading

Well, I’ve been thinking about an astrology reading ever since then, and my friends Sunny and Marina separately gifted me an astrology reading with Marina’s brother, Martin, who is both an astrologer and an osteopath!! I really have incredible friends!! Martin is based in Argentina so we had our session via a zoom call, but before we did that, he reached out to me to get my birth date, time, and location so he could prepare my natal chart for our session.

The Natal Chart is a picture of the sky that shows the position of the planets at the precise moment and place of your birth. It reveals your energetic map, your strengths, challenges, and the potential growth within your journey.

~ Martin Wollmann

Martin describes astrology as a language of stars and energy, and his readings are a way of translating poetry, words and images from that language into something we can understand.

My natal chart revealed the following: My sun sign is Leo (shocker!!), I have a Sagittarius moon, and a Scorpio rising. These were all things I knew from the astrology apps I use. What I didn’t know however, is that my Dragon Node or True Node is also in Leo, which is effectively a doubling down on my Leo energy.

So what does all this mean? This means that I have a tendency to ask big questions, always want more, think outside the box. Martin said that I’m more prone to enjoy traveling or want to live abroad, and that I love the thrill of experience and expectation. With my True Node also in Leo, it means I have a bright amount of Leo energy, which can be a lot for other people to handle. (My friends frequently describe me as “extra” - this is accurate LOL).

My rising sign is Scorpio, known for its Phoenix energy. It means I’m adaptable to change, bounce back from failure, and have the ability to relate and connect with people who are not like me.

My chiron is in Taurus, which is a primitive sign related to the Earth and Nature, the complete opposite of my fiery Leo Sun and Sagittarius moon. Martin said I tend to neglect this part of my life, and that I should be more connected to the passage of seasons (this is also something Ayurveda talks about). He recommended I create a garden, go hiking, or otherwise find ways to physically connect in with nature (unlike you, he did not know that I had already created a garden and have been cultivating flowers this summer!!!).

Martin also prepared a Solar Return Chart for me, which shows the movement of the planets over the next 12 months - a tool to show me the type of energies I might attract and why. Based on my chart, he said that 2020 is my year of being grounded (thanks COVID), and that I need to use this time to dig deep and build foundations to prepare for the next phase in my life so I can lean into that next phase with power.

He suggested I focus on learning as much as I can right now - whether that’s taking classes, being introspective and learning more about myself, etc. While 2020 has put a damper on my outward expansion (social life, travel etc), I should seize the opportunity to build something real and sustainable so I can manifest big things.

Key Takeaways for the next 12 months:

  1. What I’m learning now is the foundation for a new plan

  2. I need to recognize that I’m in the character-building phase. The exciting part (the bit I like) is coming.

As we wrapped up our session, Martin asked if I have vivid dreams. I mentioned that in fact, I do, nearly every night. He advised that I create a dream journal, and write down my dreams when I wake up each morning. I should soon start to see patterns emerge, and I will eventually be able to train my subconscious brain (which is where dreams come from) to work out problems or otherwise answer questions that my conscious brain may struggle with.

I’ve been writing in my dream journal each day, and while it contains cryptic notes like “Harry Styles”, “Beach”, “Pottery”, I’m waiting for the gems to emerge. Weirdly enough, I did also dream up some lyrics to a song (I am NOT a poet or lyricist or songwriter) and a quick google search suggests that I may have created some original lyrics (!!!!). I only have 2 verses, and nothing else has arrived in dream state, but I will keep you posted if it does.

How to have your own astrology session

So if you’re curious about astrology or obsessed with it, I highly recommend getting a reading from Martin. I really liked his manner of presentation which is not at all rushed (we chatted for over an hour) and very action oriented, which I appreciate. To contact Martin to inquire about your own reading, follow him on Instagram, where you can send him an email or DM via his profile. Martin is bilingual in Spanish and English, so you can have your reading in either language.

Martin has generously offered readers of this blog 20% off their first reading - just mention that you found him via this blog post and he’ll hook you up!

And if you do have your own session, will you please let me know? I’d love to hear about your experience too!
