Friday Five 5.17.19

I have some big personal news - as of last week, I’m no longer at my full time day job. I’m currently doing some freelance work for a PR firm while I take a sabbatical, network with lots of interesting people, and figure out what I want the next chapter of my career to look like. Which means that in the mean time I’m doing things like mid-day yoga classes and prancing around the beach in a ball gown on a Thursday. So when you see me post crazy adventures in my Instagram stories, you now know why!

Why YES I did wear a ball gown to the park on a Thursday. Thanks Rent The Runway for making it so easy! P.S. I am not sponsored by Rent the Runway, although a girl can dream

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, here are a few things that captured my interest this week!

Buy:

I mentioned I’ve been doing a lot more yoga lately and what I love most about a good yoga class is when the instructor puts that awesome cooling balm on your neck and shoulders - you know the kind I’m talking about. Well, I bought this amazing all natural yogi balm and now I can have the same amazing yoga class experience whenever I want!

Cleveland friends: I’m signed up for Chakra Pop Yoga on June 21st - come join me!

Also, a quick reminder that tickets for BorderLight International Theater and Fringe Festival go on sale today, Friday May 17th.

Watch:

Dead To Me on Netflix: Jen lost her husband in a sudden accident and meets Judy at a grief support group. The premise sounds depressing, but this darkly comedic show talks about the complexity of grief and the strength and power of friendship with some laugh out loud moments sprinkled in. A strong cast makes it really worth watching!

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s and are feeling nostalgic about the way things used to be, this New York Times look back at the hallmarks of Gen X is an entertaining step back in time. I remember desperately wanting a bottle of CK One and being SO excited when I finally got one.

If you’re feeling so inclined, you can toast to the weekend with these 90s themed cocktails. Although to be honest, they sound kinda gross.

Regardless of what you choose, CHEERS!
