Will you Pantone?

Late last year, like every year, Pantone announced its color of the year. Unlike prior years however, Pantone announced not one but TWO colors: rose quartz and serenity. Rose quartz is a pale blush pink, and serenity is a cool blue, almost with shades of periwinkle.

I absolutely adore the blush tones of rose quartz, but I have to be honest-- I'm not a fan of the cool blue of serenity. I much prefer warmer tones, and so I'm interpreting serenity to be more of an aqua tone. I've been thinking about how I'm going to incorporate these into my wardrobe, and I've started with a blush convertible backpack, the rose gold Apple Watch, and the aqua and rose gold ring.

I recently wore a Badgley Mischka for Rent the Runway dress to a dinner party hosted by Cents of Style, paired with a grey leather jacket. In fact, the whole party had a blush theme, and it was absolutely ADORABLE! I especially liked how all the attendees incorporated the theme into their outfits via their hair (seriously, so so jealous- I would LOVE pink hair), or a pink jacket, or even blush accessories paired with black.

While its safe to say that I have a clear preference for the rose quartz, I'm almost glad that Pantone picked two colors this year. I haven't always loved their prior picks (UGH Marsala for 2015) so I'm hoping the two-color trend is something that stays around a while!

Cocktails with a side of Rock n' Roll

I'm having a MAJOR obsession with BIG rings with a slight rock-n-roll edge.

I already picked up the nOir cocktail ring on sale at Gilt, and I wouldn't be surprised if I manage to collect them all by the end of the year!!

Are you into cocktail rings, or do you prefer the more delicate stacking variety?
