4 Star Books Worth Reading

I've been reading a lot over the past few months - some good, others forgettable. Today I'm sharing a few that I believe are worth reading - these are all books that I rated 4 stars or better on  Goodreads.

The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo (Amy Schumer): I really enjoyed this book, even though I don't always love Amy Schumer's stand up performances. Amy tackles serious topics with humor and I laughed out loud to this book a few times (which is not always typical for books written by comedians)

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear (Elizabeth Gilbert) (sidebar: I have this ranked 5 stars) : I LOVED this book so very much. I was feeling stuck and questioning my career and my purpose, and this book helped me reimagine both. The audio version is even better.

One of Us is Lying (Karen McManus): A modern day version of The Breakfast Club, and oh by the way, one person doesn't make it out alive. This is a fun gossipy read, perfect for the beach!

Funny in Farsi (Firoozeh Dumas): A Memoir of Growing Up Iranian in America (Firoozeh Dumas): I really enjoyed this book - it's charming and funny, and particularly relatable if you're an immigrant.

Tales from the Back Row: An Outsider's View from Inside the Fashion Industry (Amy Odell): Do you love flipping through fashion magazines? If your answer is yes, then you should definitely read this book. This is a fun insider look into the world of fashion and fashion bloggers - a great beach read!

Messy (Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan): Ok, so this is technically a Young Adult book, but I make no apologies for it. If you're a fan of Megan McCafferty, you will enjoy this one too.

A Bollywood Affair (Sonali Dev): This book is all Bollywood -- filmi even, for anyone familiar with the genre. I'm surprised this hasn't been turned into a movie. This is not highbrow literature, but is a fun departure from reality. Don't question the blog points -- they will annoy you. This is a Bollywood romance, and I loved it!!
