Friday Five 2.28.2020: Five Things I'm Looking Forward to in March

Wow, this year is really flying by!! I’m usually cranky about how long January and February feel, but I don’t know if it’s the fact that it really hasn’t been to bad weather-wise or that I’m really getting into my not-so-new job, but these two months have really flown by. But, as we welcome March this weekend, here are 5 things I’m looking forward to this month.

  1. You know how much I love astrology (mainly I love being a Leo), and I’m SO excited for the Good Vibes Only Sip + Shop at SLFMKR, hosted by my friend Kim of Modern Musings. I’m MOST excited about my private astrological reading with Catherine Urban, who you should totally follow on Instagram if you don’t already.

  2. Election Day!!! I became a naturalized citizen in 2010, and I take voting very seriously. I vote in every single election - primaries, main elections, if there’s an elected official position, I’m there to have my say. I hope that you are a registered voter, and more importantly, I hope you show up. If you can’t be there on election day itself (March 17th in Ohio), please check the rules and locations on voting early. Your voice is important. Make sure it’s heard.

  3. Miami University Women’s Network Night with Style Foundry: I LOVED my time at Miami University, but shocker I’ve never been to an alumni event. Well, that changes this year. I’m excited to attend a styling workshop with a friend of the blog and fellow alumnus, Megan Moran. If you’re a woman who attended Miami University, check out this fun event!

  4. As you know, I serve on the board of the Cleveland Chapter of Together Digital, a networking and professional development organization for women in Digital. We’re hosting our very first Quarterly Meetup this month, and it’s open to non-members too. This quarter, we have a host of HR pros sharing the secrets of getting hired, getting promoted, negotiating, and really all the insider secrets to get ahead in your career. The speaker bios will be updated further as we get closer to the event, so if career development is something you’re striving for in 2020, sign up for this event here. PS there’s an early-bird special for non-members if you sign up by tomorrow, so get your tickets ASAP.

  5. March also kicks off the starts of a busy concert year for us, and I’m super excited to see COIN at the House of Blues. I first discovered them at Laurel Live last year (now known as Wonderstruck) and then they opened for another concert, so I’m excited to watch them headline their own show!
