My 40th Birthday Recap

I have to be honest, I had no idea what to expect when celebrating a milestone birthday during a pandemic. But with Nick’s thoughtful planning, and participation from so many friends and family, I had the most wonderful birthday weekend!

On Friday, my actual birthday, I spent the morning getting a luxurious massage at my favorite local spa, Sacred Hour. An afternoon nap followed, and then it was time to get ready for dinner. We ate at Xinji, our regular ramen spot, and then Nick took me downtown for a surprise! He planned a special romantic evening at the top of the Terminal Tower for a champagne sunset overlooking the city. Huge thanks to our friends who helped make this surprise happen! It was such an amazing way to celebrate 40.

In a 40th birthday miracle, I woke up the next morning with NO HANGOVER! Reggie and I met up with my friend and former She In The CLE partner Amy for a socially distant walk in the Metroparks. Lunch and a nap followed and then it was time to get ready for my very tiny birthday party - it was just 8 people, which was pretty much all we could accommodate and have everyone outside and socially distant.

After dinner catered by Taza, a Lebanese restaurant downtown and cake, we headed a couple of doors down to my neighbor’s house where Nick played the sweetest video montage that included loads of pictures and notes from my so many of my dear friends.

Sunday was super low key and included books (I finished two of them), cuddling the pups, more naps and more cake!! Overall, it was such a great weekend, and I feel very loved as I enter a new decade!!!

Huge thanks to everyone who sent in messages and texts - you really know how to make me feel so special!
