My Goals for 2021

I’ve found it a little challenging to make goals for 2021. I know that at some point we will be in a position to resume normal social interactions (once we’ve received the vaccine), but I have no sense of when that will be, and it feels like that will impact what is and is not realistically achievable in some way. I’ve given it my best attempt, so here we go:

Make my health, fitness, and selfcare my priority: I am terrible at staying consistent with the promises I make myself. I say things like “ I will work out 4x a week and then promptly drop them. Or things like “I will drink 64oz of water daily” or “eat daily greens” and it all falls away quickly. NO MORE. This year I’m making my health and fitness goals a priority with the following:

  1. Workout 4x per week as a way to feel stronger and sleep better.

  2. Drink 64oz of water daily.

  3. Eat something green at least once per day

  4. Get a monthly massage

  5. Use our bathtub once a month (at the very least)

  6. Weekly face masks

Create more opportunities for fun: FUN is my word of the year and I intend to have lots of it.

  1. Fill out all the pages of the Cleveland Metroparks Mini Guide book that Nick gave me for Christmas

  2. Take Webster swimming more often when it gets warm

  3. More activities with friends (once we’re all vaccinated, of course)

  4. Travel, even if it’s driving somewhere and staying at an Air BNB (again, the vaccine will be very helpful here)

  5. Listen to more music - 2020 was all about podcasts, and it’s only been in recent weeks that I’ve remembered how much I love music.

  6. Get out of sweats and start dressing up again (including embracing a winged eye)

That’s it. That’s all I’ve got - feels achievable with some stretch goals. I haven’t included any career goals because I just started a new job in late 2020, so 2021 is going to be about working smart and hard and essentially killing it. Let’s do this!
