Friday Five 10.2.2020: Things I'm looking forward to in October

Wow, we are now in Q4 - how in the world did that happen?! Nonetheless, I have a few things I’m really looking forward to in October, so let’s get right into it:

  1. Voting!!! I am so pumped!! I have my letters to voters ready, I have all my voting attire, and I will be dropping off my ballot at the Board of Elections dropbox in person as soon as I receive my ballot in the mail!

  2. Designer Dress Days: The hours, location and safety guidelines have changed during a Pandemic, but the designer labels at better-than-bargain prices will be better than ever at National Council of Jewish Women/Cleveland’s (NCJW/CLE) Designer Dress Days, Cleveland’s premier, annual three-day sale. Last year I bought 2 gorgeous bags and several scarves, and while this year won’t have bags, it will still have some fabulous deals. The annual sale will take place at a new 2020 location: Thriftique Showroom (5055 Richmond Road in Bedford Heights).

  3. Scott Galloway’s Strategy Sprint: I’ve been a long-time listener of the PIVOT podcast and the Prof G show, and I really like Scott Galloway’s presentation and manner of thinking, even if I don’t always agree with his conclusions. One of my big goals this year was to continue to educate myself and I’m all signed up to attend Scott’s Strategy Sprint this October. It’s been described as the Sprint MBA for working professionals. I’m really excited to attend, and I’m sure I’ll have more to share later in the month.

  4. Female Entrepreneur Summit on October 28th, 2020. I’m a media partner of this event and will have more to say about this event in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime check out this kick-ass agenda and sign up for this virtual conference. Because it’s virtual, you don’t have to be in Northeast Ohio to participate. Early-bird tickets at $125 are valid until the end of day Friday, October 2nd.

  5. Halloween: I don’t know what Halloween will look like this year, but I’m excited to eat some Halloween candy (I already bought some and we’ve opened the bags already and I HAVE NO REGRETS)

Looking back on September, everything ended up as planned, with the exception of Apple Picking, which didn’t happen because the weather got too warm the day I planned to go. But I subbed it out with outdoor yoga so I’m calling that a win!!

Disclosures: I’ve been invited to attend the Preview Day of Designer Dress Day in exchange for assisting NCJW/CLE in promoting the event to you, my readers. It’s a really great event, and I strongly encourage you to attend if you can - the need for services has never been greater, and this is NCJW/CLE’s largest fundraising event.

I’ve also been invited to attend the Female Entrepreneur Summit as an Influencer Partner in exchange for helping the team promote their event. This year FES is giving away over $20K in grants to female entrepreneurs, so if you know someone who may benefit, please share this with them.
