My Favorite Kitchen Tools from Amazon!

Like everyone else, I’ve been cooking a LOT in 2020, and my kitchen tools have truly been a lifesaver. And while I would love to go to a kitchen store, that’s not really practical for me right now, so I’ve been buying my kitchen tools on Amazon. Here are some of my favorites that I’ve bought and love!

Double prong skewers: One of my biggest grill frustrations is when meat and veggies just spin around the skewer and you can’t get them to cook evenly. These double prong skewers have been a game-changer - so much easier to flip kebabs!

Mini tongs: I first heard of these on a podcast, and thought “how useful can these be” but then ordered them anyway because there are like $12 for a set of 3, and I’m a convert. I use these ALL the time - for salads, when I’m marinating stuff, for general cooking - excellent multi-use tool!

Silicone steamer basket: I initially bought this to make boiled eggs in the instant pot, but I use these for all sorts of steaming in a regular pot, including most recently, steaming frozen steam buns for BLTs.

Matfer spatula: You may look at this and go “what so special about a spatula” and I hear you, but there’s something about this spatula that makes it much easier and comfortable to use vs. the regular spatulas. Also, they come in fun colors.

Silicone bowl lids: lots of cooking = lots of leftovers, and I don’t know about you, but I always find myself fighting with cling wrap. These are just way easier, and you don’t have to do anything except stick this on your bowl. Note they are NOT leak-proof, but great for storing stuff on your counter or in your refrigerator. And these are reusable and dishwasher safe.

Reusable bamboo chopsticks: We eat a lot of Asian food, and I hate the idea of throwing away chopsticks after each use. These are great because they just go in the dishwasher (we put them on the top shelf) and they’re ready to use again!

Salt box: I love salt. I especially love flaky finishing Maldon salt, which I first learned about on Samin Nosrat’s Salt Fat Acid Heat. This keeps the salt handy and non-funky and looks cute on my kitchen counter!
