Giving Thanks

Today is a big day for Bombay Taxi - it is our first Anniversary, AND it is Thanksgiving Day. It has truly been an amazing year since I turned the site live on this day last year- I never expected to be in this position today, having won Best Of Cleveland in our very first year, and I have all of you to thank for it. But I wanted to take this opportunity to thank a few specific people:

My husband Nick - for being my rock, and being such a huge part of this crazy adventure. He's been with me every step of the way with an encouraging word, a thoughtful critique, and so many great ideas when I feel stuck

Paris

My mom - for being a willing and enthusiastic participant in my buying adventures, spending hours in crowded markets looking at sparkly things, and even going back to those markets without me to ship me our unique packaging supplies

My best friend since college, Jessika - for being so incredibly supportive of everything that I do, and even volunteering to come help me at my Pop Ups and doing so with so much love and enthusiasm

My friend and designer Charity Crawford, who designed my beautiful logo and business cards

My friend and photographer Suzanne Price, who took a few hours to teach me how to take better product photos

To my many collaborators this year: Karin and Rebecca from Something White Bridal; Anna Harouvis from Anna in the Raw and Maria Smith from Clear Blur Design for working so hard on our Pop Up that was cancelled by weather; Stephanie Sheldon from The Cleveland Flea for stepping in and offering me a spot at Unconventional CLE a few weeks later; Jennifer Marks from Peace & Style and Amy Cornelius from Glam & Grace for collaborating on our November Tremont Pop Up; Becca Gordon from Stella & Shay for inviting me to be a part of her Small Business Saturday Social; and Barrie Spang and her team at Sapphire Pear for our upcoming December Pop Up

Also thanks to Kate McFadden of White Poppy Events, and so many other collaborators for Bombay Taxi's first ever styled shoot - more to come on this soon

If I learned something this year, its that you can't do it alone, and lady bosses make amazing, supportive partners

To my many friends in real life: Sara, Tiffany, Reena, Danielle, Jessica, Suzanne, Alexa, Allison, Erika, Julie, Megan, Nitra and so many others who let me bounce ideas off them - so, so, so many ideas

And finally, to all of you who read this blog, and follow Bombay Taxi on social media, and interact with me online and in real life, and who love and buy our Bombay Taxi pieces - Thank You.

As I look back this year, I recognize how incredibly fortunate I am to have so many people in my corner, and it has inspired me to give back. I'm pleased to announce that starting today, Bombay Taxi will donate 10% of net revenue to charity. The institutions will rotate periodically (and you can learn more about them at our Charities We Support page)  but we are kicking off with a charity that is near and dear to my heart, one whose Board I served on for a couple of years: Secondhand Mutts

Secondhand Mutts

I know this was a long-winded post, and thank you so much for bearing with me as I got through my mini Oscar's speech there. Hope you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday and don't forget to support your local businesses this holiday season!
