My Favorite Tote Bags

As cities and counties increasingly ban single use plastic grocery bags (yay), it is becoming increasingly important to have a tote on hand for your shopping. I’m rounding up some of my favorites tote bags for work and play from Amazon as well as smaller designers.

Farmer’s Market/Beach/Take Anywhere Bags:

Your tote bag can be an extension of your personality and I LOVE a tote bag with a great graphic or sassy slogan.

I’m a big fan of the Rareform Blake tote that is made from 100% repurposed billboard vinyl making it sturdy, lightweight, easy to clean, and of course, environmentally conscious. Because they’re made from repurposed materials, each tote is tote-ally unique (sorry, not sorry I love a pun) and no one will have anything like it!

For a fun, casual, coastal vibe, I’m also a big fan of the Shore Society x Blair Ritchey map totes. Rachel and Blair release a new style each year, and the current one is for Lakewood, Ohio.

Take to Work Tote:

I love an all-leather bag, and there are SO many places to get a great zippered bag. Earlier this year I treated myself to a Portland Leather Goods Tote, customizing it with a zipper and extra long handles. I’ve been carrying it around for several months, with the added flair of a Blair Ritchey pom pom and a Stash Style vintage scarf.

The only downside of all-leather bags are that they can get quite heavy, even when they are empty. If you have to carry a bunch of stuff around, I also really like Ellie Jane’s waxed canvas bags. These bags also have a whole lot of extra pockets for organization.

Grocery Bags:

You can never go wrong with the Baggu shopping bags - chic and sturdy, these fold up in to small packages that you can stash in your handbag or your car. Baggu bags start at $10 for a small tote.

If $10/bag sounds like way too much, BeeGreen sells similar chic bags at about $15 for a set of 4.

Hope you find something in this post to help you drop those flimsy single use plastic bags for good!
